Luigi Settanni's paintings have been compared with those of Renoir, Cezanne, Matisse and Manet. A protege of Albert C. Barnes, the famous collector and founder of the Barnes Foundation in Merion, Pennsylvania, Settanni created works in the impressionistic style, paintings that one critic characterized as full of joie de vivre. Many of his paintings are in private and public collections around the world, with ten hanging in the Barnes Foundation, perhaps the greatest collection of impressionistic painting in America
